IT’S A REAL SISTER ACT WHEN ZOOEY DESCHANEL GUEST-STARS

ON “BONES” THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10, ON FOX

Ryan O’Neal Also Guest-Stars in Episode

Zooey Deschanel, star of the romantic comedy “(500) Days of Summer” and sister of BONES’ Emily Deschanel, will guest-star in “The Goop on the Girl,” a special holiday-themed episode of BONES airing Thursday, Dec. 10 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

In this first-ever on-screen pairing of the Deschanel sisters, Zooey Deschanel plays MARGARET WHITESELL, a distant relative of DR. TEMPERANCE BRENNAN (Emily Deschanel). When Brennan’s father, MAX KEENAN (guest star Ryan O’Neal), makes contact with Margaret, he invites her to spend Christmas with him and his daughter. Meanwhile, Brennan and BOOTH (David Boreanaz) investigate the death of a man dressed as Santa Claus who was blown up after a botched bank robbery.

Zooey Deschanel’s film credits include “All the Real Girls” for which she received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Lead Actress; “Elf” with Will Ferrell; “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” with Sam Rockwell, Mos Def and John Malkovich; “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” opposite Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck; “Gigantic” with Paul Dano; and “Yes Man” opposite Jim Carrey. She will next be seen in the film “Your Highness” opposite Danny McBride, James Franco and Natalie Portman. In addition to her work on-screen, Deschanel and singer-songwriter M. Ward perform together as the musical duo She & Him. The pair has earned rave reviews for their debut album, “Volume 1.”

The milestone 100th episode of BONES, directed by Boreanaz, will air in spring 2010.

David Boreanaz and His Wife Welcome a Girl

David Boreanaz's bundle of joy has arrived. Wife Jaime Bergman delivered the couple's second child, daughter Bardot Vita Boreanaz, on Monday,(31st August 2009) PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

Baby Bardot weighed in at 7 lbs., 14 oz., and joins big brother Jaden Rayne, 7, at home.

The birth comes as a relief to Bones star Boreanaz, who had been staying close to home in case Bergman, who had been on bed-rest, went into labor.

"I must maintain a 20-mile radius. I cannot travel beyond that," the former Angel star, 40, told PEOPLE recently. "If I do, I'll freak out – I have to be there when the baby comes."

Now that Bardot has arrived, the couple can breathe easy.

"We've been trying to have another baby for a couple of years now so we are beyond excited," Bergman, 33, recently told PEOPLE's Celebrity Baby Blog. "We're over the moon.”

David is scheduled for an audio-interview on Radio 1 (UK) Tuesday June 23rd @1:30pm on the Edith Bowman Show bbc.co.uk/radio1/

Brennan and Booth: together forever.

Or at least two more years, since Fox has picked up "Bones," the series starring Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, (pictured) for two more years.

The network will announce its schedule in New York City on Monday, and the lineup promises to be filled with familiar faces since Fox has already renewed: "American Idol," "Fringe," "24," "Family Guy," "The Simpsons," "American Dad," "Kitchen Nightmares," "Til Death," "Lie To Me" and "Dollhouse."

"House" has not officially been picked up, but that's probably a fitting punishment for the cranky doctor. That series is expected to return in the fall as well.

"Bones" to Visit Monday, Wednesday Nights in April

After being greeted on Thursday nights with six pre-emptions in 11 weeks, FOX hopes to make it up to "Bones" fans with special Monday and Wednesday broadcasts later this month.

Said first-run episodes - airing Wednesday, April 15 at 8:00/7:00c and Monday, April 20 at 8:00/7:00c - are in addition to the seven left to air in its regular Thursday, 8:00/7:00c home, beginning tonight.

The news means that, barring any other changes, all 26 episodes filmed for its fourth season will air.

"24" is the only other drama on television to produce as many hours this season (24 for season seven plus the two-hour "Redemption" prequel)."

HOT FROM FOX…

STEWIE GRIFFIN OFFERS BOOTH SOME SAGE ADVICE

ON “BONES” THURSDAY, MAY 7, ON FOX

Stewie Griffin, the youngest member of the FAMILY GUY clan, makes a very unique appearance on BONES Thursday, May 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

In “The Critic in the Cabernet” episode, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) decides she wants to have a baby and surprises Booth (David Boreanaz) with a request to father her child. Brennan’s request dredges up a host of unspoken feelings and unresolved issues between the two, and Booth becomes consumed by the prospect of having a child. The stress of the situation, coupled with Booth’s undiagnosed health issue, paves the way for a surprise visit from Stewie. The diabolically clever baby assesses the situation and offers advice in his inimitable style.

After returning from the BONES set, Griffin remarked on the experience of playing his first dramatic role: “Oh, have you seen it? Was I good? Because I heard they said I was amazing and they want me to replace Emily, but that’s just a rumor.”

“The guy was good during the actual scenes, which is the important thing,” Boreanaz commented. “But between takes he literally vanished – nowhere to be seen. I guess it’s true that Brits and cartoons tend to be standoff-ish. Or maybe it was a method thing, I don’t know.”

In its new Thursday time period, BONES ranks No. 1 among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers. The series is up over its average for the comparable period last year among key demos and improves over FOX’s prior delivery in the Thursday 8:00 PM hour by dramatic margins among Adults 18-49 (+43%), Adults 18-34 (+20%) and Total Viewers (+74%).

Fox Orders Six Scripts for ‘Bones’ for 2009-10 Season

By Josef Adalian

Fox is moving closer to picking up another batch of “Bones.”

The network just ordered six scripts of the 20th Century Fox TV crime drama, with an eye to using the episodes during the 2009-10 season. While not an official renewal, the script order is a good sign that the network plans to greenlight “Bones” for a fifth season later this spring.

“Bones” has long been one of Fox’s best utility players. The network has aired the show in five different timeslots since its 2005 debut, and it’s always managed to draw an audience.

The series has proven to be a particularly potent weapon for Fox this year, helping the network establish a solid presence on Thursday nights. Since relocating to Thursdays in January, “Bones” has boosted Fox’s season-to-date average in the 8 p.m. timeslot by 43% in adults 18 to 49 and by a whopping 74% in overall viewers.

More impressively, “Bones” has scored victories against ABC’s “Ugly Betty” and NBC’s comedies.
