'BE HUMAN' review from GLENON31 on fightstars official forum

Calling On All Stations – This is the perfect introduction to the overall sound of this album. This is classic Fightstar with strings supporting it, and it's a great listen. It's a track that calls out for the listener to hear what Fightstar have to say, and you can't help but be drawn in. However, other tracks on the album dwarf it, and it really is just an introduction to ease fans in, I feel. 3/5

The English Way – There's so much to love about this track. From the very start, we are introduced to the excellent drum beat, and that is soon built upon by the outstanding bass pattern that makes the tune so recognisable and enjoyable. The chorus is very powerful and the ending of the song is awesome, I'm glad to finally have a version that goes out with more of a bang. 4/5

War Machine – I was stunned. My breathe was taken away. This is a magnificent track by all standards and I fell in love straight away. It starts somewhat quietly, and throughout the tracks builds and builds until it reaches a musical and emotional climax which tugs at my heart strings in a big way. Charlie means everything he sings in this track, and you can hear his frustration and desire for more throughout. This is a magical treat for the ears. 5/5 AND ALBUM HIGHLIGHT AWARD.

Never Change – This track isn't the best. To me, it's Be Human's 'I Am the Message'. It's difficult to identify exactly what I don't like, and I think the main problem is that it doesn't live up to the rest of the songs on the album. Never Change isn't a bad song at all, its just…not the next single. What I can say is that the drums are pretty brilliantly done. 2/5.

Colours Bleed To Red – This is defiantly the most old-school track on Be Human. It has a quick and punchy pace, the lyrics are aggressive and powerful, and the final section is nothing short of class. Colours Bleed is a definite favourite for any classic Fightstar fan, I feel. I must note that I prefer the album demo, however. 4/5

The Whisperer – Now this is a treat of a track. It oozes style and light-heartedness. The guitar riff is Fightstar's catchiest and I can't help but adore the melodic section which nods pretty strongly to Weezer. The track changes in pace and tune pretty frequently which could have potentially been a put-off, but I think it's a success. 5/5

Mercury Summer – This is a pretty cool summer tune and I think the lyrics and vocals are a massive highlight. Its defiantly not a 'Fightstar' kind of track, but in this case, that isn't a bad thing at all. 4/5

Give me the Sky – I agree with the general thoughts on this one. The verse and chorus don't fit well together, and the chorus does hold A HELL OF A LOT of potential, as does the rather goosebump-inducing ending. That aside, however, I love this track – the lyrics are really touching and I think it's a pretty charming song. 3/5

Chemical Blood – I love the honesty of this song. It has no meaning other than that Fightstar want to be Iron Man. I love it. Its really well put together, and the instrumental part which intrudes about two thirds in is really quite spectacular. 4/5

Tonight We Burn – A very odd one, this is the furthest Fightstar have ever travelled from rock. At first, I wasn't keen at all, but if you allow yourself to reach the end of the song, you'll realise it isn't that bad at all. It gets better as it goes along, and by the time I was finished, I wanted to listen again. Definably a strange track, and I'm gonna have to score it low in terms of the overall quality of the album. 2/5

Damocles – My blood was pumped up so much the tips of my fingers were steaming. This is a song filled with rage and disappointment with humanity, its teeming with built up frustration. Like a lot of the songs on this album, it really picks up halfway through and its hard not to mosh along. I'm in love with this track, its defiantly the new Deathcar. 5/5 AND ALBUM HIGHLIGHT AWARD.

Follow Me Into the Darkness – This is a beautiful track. The first half is astoundingly interesting due to its lyrics – it could suggest many things. At the moment, I feel like it's like Fightstar give up – plunge yourself into the darkness of the world, your still human, and that's all you can be. Then again, I might be COMPLETLEY off the mark on that one. The second half is an excellently epic ending to an excellently epic album. 5/5

Overall, 4.5/5!
